Enrolment Session
After receiving your completed application, we will arrange an enrolment session where we will:
- Conduct a pre-course review and assess your language, literacy & numeracy (LLN) skills
- Discuss entry requirements for your chosen course
- Explore your individual learning requirements
- Discuss work-placement details if relevant
The enrolment session aims to determine your eligibility and identify any learning support needs.
Please note that meeting minimum enrolment criteria does not guarantee entry into the course.
Enrolment Criteria
At TLC Learning, we aim to accept all eligible applicants. Please note, however, that our courses have limited capacity and availability.
Eligible applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old at the course commencement date
- Meet the entry requirements for your chosen course
- Complete and sign our enrolment form
- Provide any required supporting documents
- Understand and agree to our policies and procedures
Please understand that while we strive to support our students:
- We will not issue a statement of attainment or qualification unless all the course requirements, assessments, and placements have been successfully completed.
- We cannot assure specific employment results following course completion.

TLC Learning’s team is committed to providing you with comprehensive support services throughout your training.
We’re here to support you with:
- Personal tutoring sessions with our educators, arranged in advance
- Online help through email or video calls with our educators
- Direct support via phone calls with our educators
- Mentor assistance at TLC Aged Care homes
- Reasonable adjustments to assessment requirements
We also offer referrals to external support services if needed, but please note that these services come at your own cost.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
RPL assesses skills and knowledge acquired through:
- Formal training by an industry or education provider
- Work experience
- Life experience
RPL emphasises results over where or how learning happened. It recognises skills and knowledge from work, home, hobbies, and more.
RPL can be used to:
- Receive recognition for an entire course (each unit is reviewed separately)
- Apply for specific units within a course
If RPL is granted, the overall course duration may be shortened.
Steps to apply for RPL:
- Contact TLC Learning to discuss your prior learning experiences
- Complete and submit an RPL Kit, including self-assessment, evidence portfolio, and skills mapping
- Demonstrate your skills to a TLC Learning assessor
- Participate in a final interview with the assessor
Credit Transfer
If you’ve studied the same unit at another Australian educational institution, you could be eligible for a credit transfer, which may reduce your course duration.
TLC Learning is a unique, industry-specific Registered Training Organisation providing an aged care traineeship and a variety of short courses.
